The International Federation for Model UN strives to reduce the income gap in Model UN by providing free competitions, coaching, consulting, and resources to anyone, anywhere.
Model UN teaches negotiation, public speaking, and leadership. But too often, access depends on what a school or family can pay. IFMUN exists to remove that barrier entirely. Everything we run is free, online, and open to every student, everywhere.
We were competitive delegates who kept watching talented friends skip conferences because of the price tag. Between delegate fees, travel, and hotels, one weekend of Model UN can cost more than some families spend on school in a year. That never sat right with us. So we built WINMUN, a conference that anyone could attend for free, and ran the whole thing online so a student in Lagos had the same seat as a student in London.
The first session showed us the demand was real. Delegates kept asking for more, so we kept building: monthly competitions, then free coaching, then consulting and a resource library. IFMUN is the federation that grew around that first idea, and the idea has not changed. If you want to compete, cost should never be the reason you can't.
Our Global Model UN Youth Fellowship Program is how participants become interns, chairs, coaches, and ultimately the Executive Board.
